Enjoying wonderful fall crisp mornings. Dressed for success in our lesson we leave for BW. With the heavy rains of Friday morning I drive wondering how I will stay clean as PJ will be totally covered in mud. There must be a pig in the wood pile. Much to my astonishment he is actually not too bad. With Wyatt safely tucked away and after transferring mud from horse to rider we enter the indoor with five minutes to warm up. How does this happen when I arrive two hours before?? My normal time 4:00 p.m. is tough as the horses are brought in for the night so I am not able to do proper staging and am not brave enough to mount while horses are bolting through the indoor but 11:00 is not normal for either PJ or I.
PJ was not as tramatized by the linament. Trying to apply before and after every ride. He was a little hesitant about the fly spray, could this be more linament, and then relaxes.
I am surprized as PJ feels very good today. Holding up well on his front right which I had been starting to get a little concerned about. Damn soft tissue injuries. K comes in and I haven't done our left lead canter yet - oh well, shallow serpentine it is. They don't look so much like a cardiac arrest. I haven't heard the phrase a little more trot in quite a while - YEAH! PJ doesn't want to soften at the poll during the right lead canter but K is not worried about it stating he is probably still protecting himself and his right lead has come so far. For once I get a good on our full serpentine. Practice and not over trying does pay off. The request for counter shoulder-in doesn't set off a panic attack. I gamely leg yield off the rail (thinking put his shoulders to wards the rail) and TA DAH! We do an exceptional (for us anyways) shoulder-in. I feel he is evening up - good side and bad (probably shouldn't say bad - just weak) side.
No, lessons for two weeks but I have plenty to practice. Ve vill be stronger an betta than ever!
PJ got two nicker makers and an apple he didn't have to share with Wy.
