After riding PJ constantly this past week and our confience over fences (hee, hee, hee). I gamely warm up in the indoor and then leave the barn, going down the lane considering riding in the jump field and end up heading left at the end toward Nissler's, yes Nissler's (local farmer opens his land during off hunting season). PJ and I make it over the road which is over water and head down through the trees with a corn field taller than both of us on our right. Ahead, I see pasture tape (temporary fencing). Could be cows could be horses - hoping it is horses. It is, at the same time PJ spooks but this is a standstill spook (my brave boy) so a little clucking and forward to the left to go through a little bit of woods. Mind you this whole time I have been singing "Three Irish Men, three Irish men, diggin in a ditch, one called the other a dirty son of a Peter Murphy had a dog a wonderful dog was he . . ." and "Row, Row, Row Your Boat". We make it through the woods, a clearing, wood again turn around before the steep hill and marsh jauntily back to BW.
We go to the jump field and what do you know step right into a right lead canter. After being to Nissler's I am not tense at all about being in the field. So all this time I have been blocking my poor boy. No wonder he would be a little frustrated. It is true - 95% rider 5% horse!
I am very estatic. As I tell fellow BW's I preface with I know you are going to yell at me BUT . . .
What a WONDERFUL feeling. The joy of me and my boy riding cross country (less fences). The only thing that would make it better is for Wy to be along.
Next, off to Total Puppy for Wy to show himself off. We did the Weave without a leash. The table was introduced to the puppies and Wy again excelled. I can't see him waiting patiently for 5 seconds after doing part of an agility course and then coming to this section.
