Now why don't she write . . .

Busy, busy, busy. Long gone are the lazy days of unemployment. My days are jam packed now.

Still a long ways from solidity financially. I have been employed since March 5, 2012. Quite a lot to learn. The position is totally different from my previous one.

Doing whatever I can to make extra money. No not that! I have a pretty steady house cleaning gig every other month or so that kicks my arse each time. Cat sitting and dog sitting has helped keep Smudgie in classes.

Through unemployment and everything I received a free week of training - Network + which I took the last week of March. So barely employed and I had to take a week off. That was part of my negotiations. So I am now already in debt to the Company for PTO - me don't like that.

One of the perks of the job is Vitality/Fitbug. I walk and get points which can be redeemed for like iTunes credits. Pedometers are very motivational for me. As we know, similar to my addiction to Castleville this is a great motivator for me.

I am now up to riding two times a week. The rides have been splendid. Josie has dropped a lot of the excess that she added on with the don't have gas money, can't visit you plan that we had been on. Yesterday I started pulling Josie's mane. It is very long and thick. Usually I do this when she has been sedated to have her teeth done. She isn't the biggest fan of mane pulled. Can't say I blame her. So armed with a bag of carrots the work has been started and will take a few more times to get it all finished.

Smudgie and I have been having a gas at agility. She is one speed monster. She is doing pretty well at the weaves. I just "rented" guide wires to use for practicing at home. Smudgie has progressed to doing the teeter from floor to floor. At first she was afraid but treats and lots of encouragement and she was running across it with just a few inches of break. We are now in the class that will have us do more sequences and get me to be a better handler. I really want the shirt "The dog is great, pity about the handler" - LOL!

Once the kids have all been seen by the vet(s) and my tabs are paid, I am hoping to catch up a bit. I really need to get some shirts that I don't have to iron. I have been ironing for at least an hour and a half each week. Not a big fan of ironing. The steamer works well on pants but not so much on shirts.

Well, all for now. I will be writing more often so stay tuned to the continuing adventures of the Jack Pack!
