Blog Notes
Smudgee exploded in kennel. I felt so bad for her. She just looked miserable. I had ended up staying a little later at work. I had planned to work, let the dogs out and go back to work. She had poop all over her, all over the inside of the kennel. After about two weeks in the kennel she has been moved back to the X Pen.
I got Smudgee into the vet the next morning. Poor little one. A few pills and she is much better.
Friday went by myself to the barn Josie came galloping up much different from the night she trotted up like a pony wanting to be careful due to the ice but wanting to hurry.
Saturday up before the birds. Smudgin has her own schedule? I am not arguing with her while she is on Meds for the poopslide.
Having a much needed warm spell. The dogs were crawling out of their skins with the lack of exercise.
Desensitization clinic today Heather out did herself this time. She had literally all the bells but surprisingly no whistles. The white across the top of Josie's eyes was showing. I did mostly mounted. This is Mare's fourth I think. This means I step it up. She get the balloons touching her and rubbed all over - this I did from the ground. Afterwards we played soccer and had the most fun.
Sunday we took a walk and found we couldn't cut across the park so we walked around which involved a short road section. All was going well with the pups all on "Look" when a huge noisy truck cam clattering by. Smudgee was scared to death. Any headway I had made about cars has been set back quite a lot.
Watched DVD kennel games - this will take a concentrated effort. I have now purchased Smudgee a larger kennel which will help with the kennel games practice.
Quarter Horse hours are 1014.50! I have received a lovely Montana Silver Smith's rectangle conch noting the 1,000 hour mark. Only 4,000 to go for our buckle.
Friday night Horse warming party. Allison bought a horse from some where in California. I had intended to ride but ended up having a couple of brews mmmmmmm!
Soccer Saturday night big fun. Not the usual suspects but still fun. Josie and I did our best not to be ball hogs.
Saturday March 5th. Cat sitting at the mini mansion. Loving the fenced back yard. Rode Josie had a wonderful time. After a bit of warm up for us both we proceeded to work. She is moving very well. I am remembering all the mantra items and the ride is just lovely.
I am amazed Smudgin has grown so much she had better stop. She fits her long legs now. I found out 15 inches is the max. She won't be that big.
Tuesday's walk had the two girl's on the coupler. Funny watching them pull each other instead of me.
