I had been managing to ride more and more each week. I have been having really good rides when I do get my butt in the saddle. This week though between the weather and just not feeling like dealing with the cold, I only went to visit Josie on Wednesday. I did bring the pups and with no one in the barn, Smudgin was unleashed and romped around checking everything out. With the extreme cold weather, I usually do not bring the pack to the barn. No pupcicles.
Smudgin has been attacking the bottom of the stairs of late. The puppy gate keeps her out of there but I don't always have it up. She took a six inch strand of carpet out. Grrrrr! She has managed to jump on the couch and chair and with this new found ability she has stepped up the naughty puppy side.
Class went well this week. I discussed whether Smudgin should be moved up with the big pups and it was decided to wait and see how this puppy play time went. Well, it went extremely well. Little Pepper has decided to come back at Smudge which makes her back off. Way to go little Pepper! We started working on "come" in class. I have been schooling "here". So for the first time we didn't do as well. I thought I was set with my hamburger and ground chicken treats but I was hooked up with the instructor who had fake crab. Nothing like your dog barely coming to you and then being all over the other person. Hmmmm I have been wanting steak for a while . . .
It is suppose to snow tomorrow. I am very glad as Josie needs a break from the hard frozen ground. It takes a bit to warm us both up these days. Perhaps it will be enough to put on the snowshoes.
The other week we were tooling through the open field and I am not sure if Wy got an already dead vole or if he made a quick kill. I showed it to Smudgin and she was very excited. The most she has done is follow Pix and kill the nest.
I am amazed at her growth spurt. We had a photo shoot the other day and I will have to upload some new pictures.
