This week went by quickly with regular workouts and getting items ready for the CCS Tack Sale. The sale was Saturday from 9 to 1. I had quite a few items for sale. I sold two blankets that were Senda's. I am inwardly glad his stable blanket didn't sell - it still has his smell. My goal was to sell more than I bought. I came pretty close. I bought two books, a brand new dressage pad for $15, Irideon winter breeches for $20 and a pair of gloves for $10. I will be styling and warm!
Riding with Josie has been very good this week. I am getting better with my aids which means she understands and complies when I give them correctly. With all the rain she has been disgustingly filthy. Dirt transference has increased. She had mud dreads. When I had my trot pole lesson on Sunday I had to use the hose to get her some what clean. Afterwards I washed and conditioned her tail then gave her a trim to keep it out of the mud. Her forelock has developed the cutest little devil horns.
We had five riders in the lesson. Josie and I did a much better job of circles. At the end of the lesson H made a bigger X and we went through pretty good. A few times I felt as if Josie jumped but it was not much of an effort. I like that she relaxes. We had a few stalls with a couple being my fault. She also had moments of being on the bit. All this intensive training is paying off.
Afterwards, Josie, the pups and I wandered down the lane. With all the rain I didn't want to take the entire trail. We went far enough that Wy found something very gross to roll in. He and Pix are already discolored from the mud - that I don't mind so much but the stank of whatever it was he rolled in - ICK!
I must admit I miss playing soccer this weekend. I really look forward to next weekend when CR hauls in for a trail ride and soccer. Woot Hoot!
I have Friday off to spend time with her while she gets in fall shots and her sarcoid checked. She will be getting Flu/rhino, rabies and Potomac. We will do some casual work just to keep her from getting a stiff neck.
Life is good today!
