Josie and I had the arena to ourselves with everyone at the Harvest show. I forgot the cinch for the bareback pad when I grabbed everything else. Total bareback is a bit slippery than with the pad but doable. We warmed up then practiced backing through an L and side passing on the long side of the rails. After a few trial and errors we were backing through like trail champions.
I had worked with her with a plastic bag with apples in it prior to mounting. The goal was to carry the bag from one barrel to the next. She definitely prefers items carried on her left side but we worked both sides.
Barrels are on the list for the fun show so we practiced trot around as close and fast as could we could. I must say I am a bit competitive. As we practiced different things I used playing with the ball as a reward. Twice is skill - she used her head and nose to move the ball when we got it stuck again.
Wyatt and Pix were disappointed they couldn't play but I let them in while putting our toys away. There is something about sand . . .
Josie and I shared a beer. Willie has something with "Beer for my Horses". I sat in the chair and tried to drink with Josie trying to take the can away.
Trot poles Sunday were fun. We did the square of doom. I had no idea what it was. turned out to be a square of poles which you can go over down center line or from B to E or across the diagonal. Changing bend is getting easier for me and girl.
Friday night it snowed. From my upstairs it looked like a heavy frost - nope snow!
After speaking with J at TSC, I was regretting not attending the Schumacher clinic. He is top of my list next time he returns. There have just been way to many choices and everything costs money. Oh, well.
