I think I am onto Josie's cycling schedule. Twenty-one days between and seven days on. She was an evil wench tonight. Her ears were pinned back so far I thought they would come out the other side. I would verbally say Josie and then keep trying to work. She was tense, not responding well to my left leg. I kept changing things up as best I could. The arena was pretty busy. I did smaller circles, spiral in and out on a 20 meter, turn on the forehand and just straight forward working trot. At the canter she did well moving away from my right leg to keep her from motorcycling in.

My plans were to warm up inside and then do some exercises from my 101 Jumping Exercises book. Plans changed once her moody mood was exhibited. After a while I decided I wasn't going to get any real work done so I rode her down to our barn, got Wyatt and we went down the lane. Not so much drunken sailor action. She did a little bambi sprawl at something in the bushes and then Wyatt catching up from behind caused her to jolt a little but all in all it was an excellent way to wash away the arena work.

Slowly but surely my jumping saddle is breaking in.

Now to look back through my log to that last horrible ride and verify Josie's cycling schedule coincides with these bad rides. Thank goodness it wasn't me - which I usually expect.
