Darn missed the National Smoke Out today. Didn't hear about it until the afternoon.
Uneventful work day at home. Very chilly today. Bundled up big time for the barn. Pups had their blankets on. Pixie just so hates her's. One day she will put two and two together.
I have had a couple email conversations with J Pix's breeder. We are getting ready for the February nuptials. She has to have an STD test the beginning of February and come in season and we are good to go. I am getting more nervous about this. Poor little baby is going to have babies.
Got out with daylight left so the pups and I wandered down the lane. There was much expressive running and growling happening. They are good friends now. Good friends that have their moments.
It was brutal going down the driveway to get Josie. I have to remember thicker gloves and oh, yes, a flashlight. Palaminos and buckskins look very similar in the dark. She was kind enough to lift her head from the feeder for positive identification. We minced our way through the moguls and eventually found the beaten down trail for the rest of way. I tried something new today, taking off my vest to see if it is creating static when I brush her. I am assuming the build up of static electricity is what irritates her.
Might I mention we had successful departs on both leads. Yup!
Darn! They turned the heat on in the barn. Josie got more wet than usual but I only had to blow dry her chest and the girth area. Needless to say she wasn't too pleased. But a little bit of Senior grain made it all better. After feeding her a good girl apple, I thought my fingers were going to fall off.
