Took the pups for a walk before getting ready to go to the barn. The path we took today led us by the playground equipment. Wyatt wanted to slide. I tied Pixie up and Wyatt ran up looked down the slide wanted to go but wouldn't. I went up and slid down. He immediately ran around and went down himself. Pixie meantime is going nuts as she wants to try. She hadn't been down this big of a slid before but was game. She went down - she does extreme slide - slides a bit, jumps and then slides the remainder.

We did this several times and then I noticed blood on the bottom of the slide. Quick visual exam shows that Wyatt is bleeding. Not to get him scared of sliding, I doled out treats and then we head for home. He notice it about a block away licking and limping we made it home. Wyatt never yelped or anything. Not exactly sure what he did but he took off most of his toenail and left less than half of the quick. Just a nubbin remains He handled the wound cleansing pretty well. I put vet wrap on it as it was oozing blood pretty steadily.

I made ready for the barn and packed them up. I was worried about Wy bleeding to death. I had my alumi spray at the barn which I thought would help with the bleeding. He had stopped bleeding by the time we got to the barn. I sprayed, rewrapped, rode and checked on him only to find he had removed the wrap and licked off the spray. Great now I have probably poisoned my dog, too! I wrapped it up again, finished with Josie and let the pups out to go potty. Wyatt got frisky with Pix and it started bleeding again. It stopped again and I kept him quiet the rest of the night.
