Took the pups to the barn but didn't let them run around much. Trying to keep Wyatt quiet. It was clear but started raining until I got ready to ride up to the arena.

Josie came when I called - no hay distractions.

Riding western today to practice canter departs and possibly go out on trail but not with the rain. Got a feeling about her so I let her romp in the round pen. She was very high. Totally not her normal self. This should have been my first clue. I brought her indoors and she started off okay but once I started trotting she was racing around. Didn't know if this was canter anticipation or what. To top it off she has a cough that causes her to pull me out of the saddle. She also was pinning her ears and using a little body english towards Matte another mare. What the h ll! I kept thinking she would settle down but she didn't. I quit and rode her back to the other barn. At the walk she was fine. I unsaddle her and start to brush her and notice a lump on the offside in the area of the latigo for the girth. Did I have the cinch twisted - I am the worst owner ever!!!! She quickly forgives me but I am very bummed. I should have checked my tack better. You think I would have notice it or felt it with my leg. Wretched human!
