A few weeks ago, I had purchased a camcorder, tried to hook it up to my Powerbook Pro. Well, I could only get jpegs when they should be movies. Just to be safe I attached to my PC and it works. I did a little research and guess what? I needed new operating system software that supports this camcorder. Argh! While I was online the iTouch mysteriously appeared with and engraving in my shopping card. I have been resisting for so long. I LOVE IT!
Turns out iTouch's download is 22 hours via dial-up. I tried three times and would get to around the 18 hour mark and get knocked off for some unknown reason. Couldn't use the iTouch which is burning a hole in my hand wanting to be used and used NOW! I try one neighbor, she's not home. I try the next and he is preparing to leave and myself, I needed to go ride. Yes, they have Comcast. Later that night it took 13 minutes to download! I go home get my iTouch up and running and figure out how to transfer music, movies, etc.
Saturday, my OS upgrade arrives - whoo hoo! I install it and iLife the other necessary link in this upgrading process to get stuff off my camcorder. I was to go on a trail ride but opted out to ride later after I finish my upgrade. Guess what? Snow Leopard and a huge update and some of the other programs had some. I pick the smallest ones to run. Thinking I can just bring it to work and get the download. I see my other neighbor and decide to ask him. I made need another huge download and should keep M for that. "So what do you have for internet access?". "Comcast. Sure you can use it". Can you say Amen, Sista! It took a bit longer to do plus the larger updates for the other items but I was up and running with the hour. Now, just to find time to play with the camcorder before I lose the memory on the camcorder's card.
Then I am looking at System information through the Apple Menu. Checking out all my cool stuff. This version is smart enough to tell you that while you don't need to replace it right away you should start the process. So bought a replacement. I next go to update Quicken (checkbook) and am not able to. I am hoping I just need to register. I would rather not spend any more money on technology unless it is music or apps for my iTouch.
