Strep has invaded the barn! One horse was out for training and the facility she was at wasn't nice enough to mention it. This horse is pregnant but should be okay. I had heard her coughing, I think it was Saturday night, her first night back. It sounded more like choking so I peaked in, her head came up and the natural inclination is to put your hand out there. Yup that's what I did. Then I went back to Josie. Sooooo if Josie doesn't get sick within the next ten days we should be okay.

I was going to take the day off of riding so I could do the Census and a few other things but after receiving the strep notification email I decided I better head out.

I thought it would be a perfect night to try the Ariats I had stretched at Bob's. I didn't wear the same breeches as I had when I initially tried them after getting them back. Nor did I use my most thin socks. Ya! I was okay for a bit and then the pain set in. I dismounted and limped out to take them off and put my mtn. horse boots on for the rest of the ride. I was suffering horribly trying to get the left one off when a cramp hit my calf. OMG! Does that ever hurt!!!! I getting sympathy and laughter from my barn mates (Josie may even snickered a bit). I am taking them back ASAP to get stretched again and will not wear them except with the thinnest breeches and socks. AND that would be after wearing them around the house a bit.

Once the circulation returned to my legs I mounted again. We did just a little work. Josie was not wanting to bend to the right today. My neck is out a bit on the left so I think I was the major problem. We called it a night, snacks were served and I headed home to stinky dog.

I had taken the pups out in the field to hunt. Guess Wy wants more than Sunday night bathings.

CamoWy the worst side

I thought Pix had gotten a live one but am not sure. Not sure if she mangled the head or something else?

I will have to stop soon as the babies will be showing up in the nests.

Life could have been worse today.
