EW called and spoke with me in regards to my qualifications. It wasn't an interview but I was nervous. I know I said Yup a few times. Back to the waiting game. I so hope they decide they need me here.
Left work late and rushed us all to get to the barn. A little worried when I merge onto 212 to find all lanes full and very slow. Turns out a cop had pulled over someone. Nothing like a good gawker slow down. There is nothing to see, move along folks.
Coal, the SUV, received a bath the night before and I have been dodging puddles ever since. It shows how dirty the inside windows are - gotta get on that while it is "warm".
Josie was at the farthest feeder, I gave a holler and her head popped up and she started towards me. About two-thirds of the way she picked up a nice trot. Oh, my Josie girl! Two homemade treats for that! We had purpose to our walk to the arena. Not sure what Josie had in mind but I knew what I wanted to do - school, school, school.
I had cleaned and conditioned all our gear. Lederbalsm is good for the skin but black Kiwi shoe polish - not so much. I forgot a saddle pad. Luckily, I had an extra in our locker. I also was using a Mattes pad as her regular pad was still drying. The arena was almost at maximum capacity but the most of the riders were good to ride with. Josie hasn't been as growly at other horses since NDM showed up. Tonight we rode with a new horse. She did her usual, "Hmmmm, you are kind of cute, who are you?" then ten minutes later, "You creep! Stay away from me." I chastised her and continued on. It was over, that was it - good Mare! Lesson learned.
Difficulty getting her off my left leg again tonight. Will I have to deal with this forever? Am I not being clear enough? I know that leg isn't as strong but I exercise it. Is it resulting from tension because of work? I really made a point to pay attention to my hunch syndrome, glancing when possible into the mirrors.
All and all it was a good ride. Practicing round circles when traffic allowed and ending on a good halt transition - enough for today. What will be, will be. I know what I need to focus on a bit more when riding - transitions, transitions, transitions and of course, circles.
May the circle be with you!
