I am liking my new and improved blog. I have to thank W for actually getting me going on this way back when. Also for being a good example of great writing, pictures and layout. I just added a site meter at the bottom. Oh gee all of them are me. I keep debating about whether to do the ad sense to get more traffic. Lord knows my other friends don't check it out.

A must free download from iTunes - Cheater, Cheater by Joey & Rory. It is good country. Enjoy! I have downloaded quite a few jewels. I love free! I heard this one on the way home and Tuesday is free download day. I had planned to download the free and search for Cheater, Cheater but low and behold it was the freebee.

Nice night for a ride. I was suppose to meet M but she came off Moe. Will need to check to see how she is doing after hitting the wall - literally.

Josie was glad to see me. Even after bringing all our gear up to the barn and walking down with the pups to get her only to find she had wandered to the outer area. A few calls and our special whistling theme and she came trotting! All was forgiven I guess. I was a little hard on her the other night. Must remember she doesn't do things because she doesn't understand.

I lunged her outside in the round pen with the side reins on the magic number eight. She didn't think she could move forward for a few seconds but then proceeded forward. I didn't want to lunge her long as the footing wasn't the best. She needs to just be exposed to the shortening and then we will gradually increase the work requests.

I was pleasantly surprised to find she wasn't doing the trying to canter when I did anything else. I also shortened my stirrups one notch. Ha! I remembered to do it this time. It felt weird but I do think my leg was more effective. I will give it a few rides to decide whether it is better or not. It did make my recently twisted right ankle a little sore but I figure it was stretching where it really needed to stretch.

She is mare-ish when we are going by other horses. I asked for more contact today. The right bend was the best it has been for a while. She has her areas where she thinks we are going to canter and did a few of her trys but I kept her forward with leg on and she quit hopping. I am looking forward to my next ride. Once she settles again, I will ask for canter transitions again with my leg farther back. She needs me to whisper my queues. I must ask softly with her. She is sensitive in a different way from the other steeds.

Wyatt and Pix were most happy to see their buddy L. There was much happy body and Pix threw in some fun whines and scamperings. So excited. It is cute to see.
