What a beautiful day. My front door was painted with the poop brown color that was voted in. Hello people - poop brown!?!?! The only thing good about it is it won't show the dirt from the pups. Hopefully anyways.

Received my order from SmartPak. I love Josie's new saddle pad. I had it embroidered with a butterfly (I am turning into a girlie girl now that I have a mare) with her name below. It is lovely! Wyatt was a bit annoyed the box didn't contain anything meant for him. I am trying the Kerrit winter riding pants. I think these will do the trick. It is to warm at 50's to try them. My Irideon 3 seasons are working fine right now. These breeches are full seat with a different leather than I am use to. They seem like they will be toasty warm. Will try to do with the winter boots I have but if I remember correctly they might have started to leak where the wear marks are.

Josie looks great. Her winter coat is coming in nicely. She is starting to get her raccoon eyes but the hair length is teddy bear length as yet but full. It must have been the new pad. She was a superstar today. She only tried her canter trott thingy a couple of times. I just press her forward while half halting and it seems to do the trick. We warmed up with the side reins again today. She is realizing she can go forward a few more days and I will tighten them up another notch. Right now she is still getting use to the magic number 8.

She is bending better but still on her forehand. I have been doing more and more transitions. Our trot to walk leaves a lot to be desired. We are both a work in progress. She will only get better if I get better. Last night I also practiced riding without stirrups.

I really need to get going on our halloween costume. I haven't tried to see if the stencils will work. Hopefully this weekend I can give it a go. She really needs her mane evened up. I think I will use the solocomb again instead of pulling.

What I would really like to do is go out on trail before the yahoo hunters get out there. Bird hunting starts this weekend. I should think about getting some hunter orange attire so I don't get shot at.
