Met with Dr. B at 4:00 for x-rays of PJ's front feet/pastern. We ended up doing a nerve block on his front right foot. I was tearing up while holding the twitch and PJ. He handled it pretty well but Dr. didn't get him stuck as well as he would have liked. He didn't want PJ flipping over backwards - it must be extremely painful - poor baby. PJ was 90% better on the lunge after the block. His reaction to his missing foot was a little funny but the entire process was traumatic to me.
While waiting for Dr. B to call I started getting worked up and was bumming out - tears and attitude all the way. Went for a walk which helped a bit. D said we are ordering pizza and to get beer for myself - sobbing I can't afford to buy beer!
Dr. B developed PJ's x-rays very fast - thank god! He has a slight roughening on the top of his coffin bone. Dr. B wants him to get wedge shoes on. That should hopefully resolve it if not he will need an injection of cortizone in his coffin bone joint. Sure just my luck the farrier isn't returning my calls as he is at a farrier convention.
