We tried for Wyatt’s CGC (Canine Good Citizen) on Saturday. Out of the 10 items required to pass he only missed one. That item was Separation Anxiety – a “friendly” stranger held his leash while I left the room for three minutes. About one and a half to two minutes I hear a little yip and then a YIP. Oh, well he’s a momma’s boy. I am VERY pleased with his passing all other items. We will try again in the future. I am enlisting the help of friends to help with getting him to be able to handle separation. The way I look at it the one time he has been handed off to someone it was the vet for his neutering and he didn’t see me for over 24 hours– I would get anxious too! I love that when we go to the barn he might run to play with his puppy friends but he comes and checks on me.
He has been doing very well in Obedience II next will be Intermediate. His latest tricks are piggy back (I am on all fours and he jumps on my back and lays down) and Up Arms where is jumps up my leg into my arms. He has also learned back and forward.
I hope to enter Wyatt for beginner obedience, agility and go to ground at the St. Croix Jack Russell Terrier Trial in May.
On the PJ front we are now scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00. Fingers are crossed!!!
