Very busy at work. Survived my first Disaster Recovery Test. Now all focus will be on the upcoming VoIP conversion.
For the past month they have been redoing the landscaping - a week to remove the rocks and plants, a week to who knows what then a week to put dirt out and a week for the plants and finally a week for the rocks. I was thinking okay I won't mind this after we got use to being without our hedge that kept the dogs from seeing everything. With their new found panoramic view, I have been having to lay down the law. What's with the barking at every little thing. Wyatt has a very nice tempo to his barks. It is BARK, one, two, three, BARK, one, two, three - rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
I have taking to owning the door and sliding door - thank you Cesar. Just when you think it couldn't be worse the plants they were putting in front of my place arrived. I am sorry but these are BUTT ugly! I will be writing a letter to the Board. It took several days for the property manager to return my call. I don't like them messing with my property value and curb appeal is an important factor. These days any advantage to selling your unit must be preserved. It also looks like a serial killer cut the holes for the plants to be placed in. You think some weeds will make their way into this offense bushes?
Ugly Plants - Moon something or other

My last jumping lesson (two weeks ago already) I really tweaked my right shoulder and bicep areas. My right side said finally enough with taking over the responsibilities of the left, I need a vacation and want to be pampered too! I thought I was better but NOT! I have decided to postpone our jumping career until I am closer to 100%.
I have been taking it easy but have started back doing the Biggest Loser Workout. I skip the arm weights and just do circles and such. I have so many areas to ice now - my freezer is a quarter full of ice packs. This past Saturday, Josie did something to her eye which made me stumble upon some wonderful ice packs. I have two sheets of them ordered from Amazon. The gel works okay, the clay works okay but there is nothing like real ice.
Back to Josie's right eye, it turned out to be nothing. Dr. B had me give her Bute and then ice it. By the time I left Saturday it looked almost normal. I left notes so the barn staff would call if she flared up again. So far we have survived the Strangles epidemic. We are still going straight into the arena and back to our barn. It has be horribly wet here no outdoor riding at all.
Josie's Eye

Pix is off to the breeders. She will be having a c-section and getting spade (this is part of the deal). Wyatt and I are enjoying the Pixlessness. She is a great dog but there is nothing like the bond Wy and I have. It is freaky scary how he knows what I am thinking. Monday we went for a long walk. It was relaxing. There is an area where I can take his leash off and he remains at my side or not too far ahead and always with the check backs. Maybe I will pull out some agility equipment tomorrow night. I think Wy will like that. Hope I can remember my agility turns and crosses.
The Check Back

Walking nicely

I had a pretty good ride on Josie last night. I am doing a lot of transitions. She was in a little bit of a mareish mood but once reminded she shouldn't give the "I Will Kill You If You Get Too Close" Looks she was better.
I take her back to remove her gear and cool off, when she takes a misstep. I look down to see no shoe on the front left - WTF! I start to go through the mental video of preparing her for the ride today. I know I cleaned mud off the outside of all four feet and I think I missed picking that foot. What a horrible partner I am. I felt just disgusted with myself. I never ride her if she is missing a shoe and if I do it is very lightly. Here we were cantering and canter to trot transitions and back to canter, walk to canter. Oh, bad Mom! BAD MOM!
I should have known though. I scheduled Friday off and she seems to do something every time I take vacation. I think she was disappointed that Dr. B didn't need to come out. I just know she wanted to spend some of my saddle finally sold money. That darn Mare . . .
Well, at least it is Tuesday and she can be on the Fix It list for Ernie. Hmmm I think his vacation time is coming up soon. She takes advantage of that time too. You silly Mare.
The new water heater has now passed inspection. I haven't received the first bill yet and believe me I am not looking forward to it. Please let the furnace keep going until next year. Please, pretty please. I'll be good, I promise!
All in all, Life is still good!
