Back to work :( at least it was a good day.

Overcast but no rain. We need rain, let it rain please.

Hustled to the barn, excited to work Josie and see where we are at. I will find out for sure if all is forgiven. I went so far as to bring up her fly leg wraps and a lunge line but never got any farther than that. Next time I promise Josie!

She was a little jumpy today but settled as we walked to the arena. I opted to ride inside today to establish obedience and work through our recent issues. Next time I ride outside I will have started in the indoor.

Overall, we did well. The arena was crowded and at one point I even passed between two horses with no issue. I felt her hang back but encouraged her forward. She is mesmerized by Sky pony - can't quite get use to the tolt movement. Leg yield to the left is getting better and better. She is getting it to the right but it isn't at the same beat. I keep reminding myself that it is like me using my left hand. We have to just keep doing it and doing it and suddenly it will be there.

I have spent a lot of time pondering our issues. I have noticed that after our lessons we butt heads and our work go south. I felt like I was having to try too hard with this hugging which makes me tight in the leg and seat and she responds the same with tenseness. I am going to try something with our next ride and see if there is a difference. Last night she curled - she never curls.

I practiced a little sitting between posting and was able to keep her forward and relaxed. What I think we really need is a trail ride. I don't think I will bring Pixie along on trail until after she has the puppies. She is moving slower and slower. She still has a few weeks left yet. She is starting to groan a bit. Poor little girl.
