HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSIE!!!!!
She has turned into quite a fine mare. Now that we get ready at our barn we have been getting along just fine. She has pretty much ceased her little nipping game (perhaps it was the consistent beatings - just kidding). Her neck, most of her face and chest have shed out and you can see that golden buckskin which is just beautiful.
We rode in the updoor but ended up moving inside as the sky was very threatening. We did walk and trot, some serpentines, circles and leg yield. She is getting better about accepting this cue. Although we were clipping along pretty good at the trot she was needing a few transitions and slow posting to get in time with me. After getting her settled into work I rode without stirrups - very brave.
Indoors we worked on a few canter departs. She still gets a little stressed but it is much better. She will nod her head and neck afterwards not every stride, maybe every four for just a bit. I assume it is anticipation of being asked again. She doesn't do it as much or as long as she use to. I am getting better at thinking canter which decreases any tension I may be creating by over thinking cantering. Have I said lately how much I love Josie??? Oh, I do, I truly do!
J emailed she is picking up the Pixinator. Wonder how long before I can tell if she is with pups? It will be nice to have the whole damn family back together. I do wish I could keep a pup but two hands = two dogs is my motto. I will just have to take lots of pictures.
