A day of vacation, ahhhhhhh!
We went to the Asian Market to get cuttle fish for me and rock candy for Josie. Deeeeelicious!
I had noticed that my medialian jumping pad didn't quite make it to the end of the saddle so we swung by Pleasant Hills in Lakeville. I rummaged through the small selection and then with the assitance of a sales person tried various ones with my saddle. I am a smaller person so you would think they would have 18 to 18 and a half inch pads - NOPE! But we can order for one. My question was would I have to come back here to get it. The answer was yes. My answer was I will have to think about it. I looked at bridles while I was there but didn't find anything that really caught my eye. Josie is a q-horse but has a petite head so my existing jumping bridle is up to the last notch on either side.
Wyatt and Pix patiently waited for me while I shopped. I ended up only buying a $2.00 bag of treats and a wormer paste. I didn't get my fix but my checkbook was in better shape.
Last night and today I practiced my two point. I can already tell I am getting stronger. The funny thing was I used an old stirrup leather to remain in position, I went into two point so pressure was applied to the underneath of Josie's neck. She hopped up and forward - almost a jump. At first I thought it was the flower box we had just gone by but figured it out when continuing on in two point she acted a bit goofy when I used the leather. She is now use to it and I managed to remain in two point, not hit her in the mouth or back with this bascule over the invisible jump.
I had some muddy dogs but no baths until the weekend is over. Pix is very dainty when it comes to mud, Wyatt just slogs through. You can imagine who is the winner of this weekend's mud contest.
All my T's are crossed, ducks in a row and all that. I am ready for the clinic. More later.
