In February, I will have been in my town home for five years. Each year I have meant to have my furnace checked. Last year I noticed continual clicking when it tried to light the pilot, this year was about the same. I had a very good tech out from Centerpoint. I have always been an advocate of ServicePlus and once again it has paid for itself. He did a thorough cleaning and replaced, well, I will call it, the igniter. The pups and I are now sitting at a comfy 62 degrees.
I thought Josie would be a handful as we had to skip Tuesday's ride and after mounting I thought I was right. But, she settled down relatively quickly. We didn't have brakes for a while. I am trying to sit the trot before asking for the downward transition, lengthening my legs, getting my heels down, squeezing my thighs, bracing my back and the new thing - exhaling. I think it worked.
Upon the second attempt Josie slipped into a very nice left, yes, LEFT lead canter. We have been making major headway in a lot of areas. I am very proud and pleased with my little girl. She is now three and a half. I feel we are progressing very well. She likes her work and that is important. I rarely have to use the whip and when I do it is one quick tap and that is only if she didn't respond to my whispering leg.
My barn will be having a schooling show and the date has been set for January 10th. I have to start memorizing and practicing our tests. I would like to show her in the two intro tests and then a training test. The training will only be signed up for if she continues to progress in the canter as she is. The intro tests are only walk and trot which I know she will do well. I should say, as long as we get to warm up first.
Wyatt and Pixie were extremely happy to be at the barn. We went for a walk and they ran up and down the lane. Well, like crazy JRT's do.
Oh, I almost forgot . . . I felt so bad for the little Wy Guy. He was on the couch barking at who knows what and he slipped, hit the boot stool and then the carpet. Poor Wy is not good at getting scared. His little anal gland went into action and in his fright he got the wall and the carpet. He held his right hind leg up for a second but then decided he better clean himself up. I immediately grabbed paper towels cuz if you have ever smelled that smell you know what I mean - ICK! The tech was to be there any minute so I am spraying the Febreeze and locking dogs in their kennels after wiping Wyatt and the wall down. Wyatt seems to be fine and I don't smell anything but Febreeze in the area. My little delicate flower. Now, Pixie on the other hand while playing in the garage ran pretty much head first into the garage door, grabs her toy and comes back for more. They continue to entertain, scare and amaze me.

Ohhhhh, lordy. If Maisy's anal glands ever "went into action" we'd have to MOVE! She's always had problems in that "area", poor thing, and I always feel SO bad for our WONDERFUL, FANTABULOUS, LOVING groomers who faithfully take care of that situation without complaint. (And, that's one of the reasons they get MASSIVE tips from us!)
