Back to work after a week off. Managed to get up and going on time for the first DST morning. Pups were pretty good about going in the kennel. I do need to play more kennel games so they don't know when I will keep them in there for the duration of my day.
With a brilliant blue sky and gusty winds, me and the pups went for a little hunt. I had contemplated running but with left back of thigh still stressed decided to hunt. Wyatt found one right away but it got away. Well, at least I think so. Pixie did her famous MINE dive and what I found was a tail. Hard to tell if it was fresh or not. I put it as close to my nose as I dared but it didn't smell bad - wait do vole tails smell good?!?!? It take a while to get Wyatt off a spot but I managed. We covered most of the field and were joined by Wanda and Bo. After greetings, Wyatt and Pixie went back to the task at hand - GET THE CREATURE. I think much to Wanda's dismay they got one. Wyatt the Locator did his job and Pixie the Closer got the vole. She had her nose in the grass for a few seconds and her tail was just a wagging. She brings her head out and has the vole sideways in her mouth - not easy to do her boa constrictor move - and her nose is bleeding. Before relinquishing to the inevitable the vole gave Pix a chomp on the nose! She didn't cry out and probably didn't even blink. I didn't even try to take it away.
We then played with the new frisbee but it didn't go over too well. I think what I need to do is get a huge frisbee.
Next, I worked first Pixie (much to Wy Guy's dismay - he was howling a bit). The started out interested in the tug and then got food oriented which isn't a bad thing.
Wyatt and I worked on side and our 8 turns for agility. We worked on wait with a release to tug.
Have I said lately how much I love my dogs!!!
