Good ride. I was a little tense to start - I think because of the impending storm. I was all worried about the wind. I need to relax quicker as soon as I do he naturally does - hmmmm. I got him on the bit and forward at the trot. I managed to get on with Sarah standing there not holding him. I asked her so when do you know it is safe to sit on a cold backed horse. Her reply was when you do and he doesn't buck - LOL!!!!
I also survived one of his spooks (I think technically we cantered ;) ) - the worst yet but nothing compared to what I have had other horses do. My least favorite is the spook that is the whirl, dash and buck and buck and buck. Had to use a bit of the wall to stop him but nothing serious. Managed to mount without someone holding him. The adrenaline got going but I stayed with him which was good for my confidence. I think it is so cute that he recognized me already. This is very good cuz a lot of times I am in there by myself. Slowly getting him figured out. K had taken him to DK for some spook therapy training (it didn't really help that I noticed) but said to go ahead and ride him. I got him ready in the stall instead of the cross ties. He moved around a bit but not too bad. My saddle seems to be working okay for him. I really need to take his bridle home and oil it. I figure Fri. will be good as Sat. is my next ride so K won't be riding him and need it. Perhaps if the stars are strategicly (?sp) I will try to canter.
Rocky certainly moves more like his quarter horse half than his arab half. Takes a little getting use to the quarter horse movement after PJ's (when not lame) nice warmblood moves.
