The SHOW Weekend!

Wyatt and I entered our first Terrier Trial, May 13 and 14 put on by the St. Croix Jack Russell Terrier Network at the Washington County Fairgrounds. I entered him in Conformation (Neutered Dog), Ball Toss (just a fun class), Agility (Novice On Lead) and Novice Go-To-Ground. On Saturday, Agility (Novice On Lead), Novice Go-to-Ground and Ball Toss on Sunday.
It was raining and cold all day Saturday and of course it began to rain in earnest as we stepped up for our Agility run. I believe there were a total of five dogs with Wyatt placing second. He ran under the first element which was the tire, went through the tunnel and went back through again (he loves his tunnels), he climbed the A Frame which was at full height when we were use to doing it at maybe two, two and a half feet. Same with the dog walk, much higher than we were use to but Wyatt had no problem with it. We took fifth in Conformation, no time in ball toss and no time in the Go-To-Ground. The judge of GTG was very nice and worked with Wyatt and me for about a half hour by the time we finished, the light bulb came on - he had figured it out. Any time we walked in that direction he started trying to pull me over to the GTG tunnels.

Sunday he took first in Agility, first in Go-To-Ground and fifth in Ball Toss. Before our class I was able to practice the tire which he actually jumped when we did our course. I also practiced the tunnel – getting him to go to the next item. Wyatt is always one for improvement.

Best in show,
Wyatt and TJ
