Big day today. Lesson followed by the Puppy Halloween Costume party. Got out to the barn early so I could wear Wy out a bit. My little scamp ran and ran and ran.
PJ and I just weren't on for our lesson today. I know in the back of my mind I worry about his front right and tend to ride him gingerly.
We did a lot of transitions with the trot, meaning we slow almost to a walk (a half halt) by slowing my post and not rising so high then onto rising higher for a bigger trot.
Shoulder-in was good but we only did it twice each direction.
We did a couple of unintentional careens but overall out canters were good. I am better at keeping him where he needs to be. She noted that I am riding light seat and I should try sitting a bit more and using my seat.
Rushing around to get ready for the party. Wyatt was only slightly disagreeable about putting on his goggles. I put a lipstick heart on his right butt cheek. It isn't easy drawing on a dog's coat. It turned out pretty good but quickly became a brown heart after a few passes through the arena. Wyatt gets along so well with others. Such a welcome relief. I think he was grinning all night.
K and N's dog Maruche (?sp) enjoyed his costume way too much. Tights, feather boa, tutu and a hat. Then the other dogs started enjoying his costume as well. Wyatt was running after with a feather from the boa hanging from his mouth. Tia was a delicate flower. She put on her aggressive face and then her chicken face. With so many dogs it was a wonder how well they got along. Wyatt had one definsive spat with Maruche but I broke it up. Cosmo looked wonderful with his pumpkin outfit. Baily was perfect a doberman as batman.
Every dog and human enjoyed the party immensely. Pictures to be added soon.
