Wonderful Weekend

Thursdays ride was AWESOME! We are both getting it. I was softening without thinking about it. Josie became rounder and easier to ride. Oh, lovely day!

Friday night was spent with BW friends. Too much to eat and chocolate cake and dessert to die for. We watched the promo for Big Bang. This is what the network saw to invest into the show. They changed the main gal and Sheldon and Leonards' friends weren't in it but it was hysterical anyways.

I have been reading Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I didn't realize how much I am like her. A neighbor had mentioned she thinks of me when she reads about Stephanie's exploits in the bail bonds business. I was seen reading the book by some co-workers and they all said how much I was like her. Hmmm not sure about this being a good thing but I guess it means I am very entertaining, low self control, spontaneous and snit happens to me. I am now reading book 12 which is the book that got me started. Well, along with the comment of my similarity to the main character.

Accomplished much at home. Finally, trimmed my ficus tree - it will look better soon. Pups toenails done. Only made Wyatt's dew claw bleed a bit.

Pixie is looking like a slightly deflated football with legs. I am pretty sure she will have more than the three pups Jill needs to break even. I am guessing five without any one being gargantuan like the male from the last litter. I keep telling Pixie sorry and that she is taking one for the team but the look in her eye makes me wonder if I will be forgiven. It will all be over soon little girl.

Went to ride Saturday to find Josie had pulled her left front shoe. Grrrrrr! She is fine and was more than happy to remain in the pasture with her herd. I have started to notice a less full look in her forelock. I have seen her trying to graze under the fence. The poor girl thinks she isn't getting enough to eat and has to forage for more - reminds of, well, me!

In pursuit of my muchness, I came home and prepared my road bike for a short journey. Took a while to find my clip on shoes, helmet and gloves. All were a bit musty from sitting in the storage container for so long. I decided to venture West on Bass Lake Road. I had spotted a park when I drove that way a couple of weeks ago. I am definitely out of shape and really appreciate a good downhill. My battery is dead so no way of knowing how fast or how far. If I continue to ride I will reward myself with a new battery. The park is pretty nice and the paved trail very smooth - much easier than the sidewalk trail that I took to get there. I find a map and see that I could potentially bike to the Coon Rapids dam. There will be quite a few training rides before that is attempted. I would also use my camel pak - one water bottle won't cut a ride that long.

I try not to think of the poor puppies left stranded in the air conditioning with their full bellies.

Everything seems to be holding up. Legs are tired. This is very evident on the return and the steady hill on the home stretch.

Sunday, more chores were done, pups played with and horsey treats baked. I was going to clean tack but got side tracked trying to connect my Powerbook Pro and camcorder. After a couple hours and in between processing sheets of horsey treats, I decide that I need to upgrade my operating system and iLife. Uh, oh! This could be very, very dangerous. I have been wanted an iTouch forever, okay since I first saw one and have withstood the pressure all this time. My iPod is still hanging in there but I hear the drive turn more and more these days. I would die without my tuneage! Plus, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles the iTouch has. Oh, look! They are offering free shipping! Okay, if I don't spend too much in other areas (Chipotle, beer and Blended Chia tea) and this is my next Christmas and the birthday after my next birthday present. (This could actually aid in weightloss.) I had already bought the camcorder for this year's Christmas and my next B-day. AND I try to sell my old TV's and that little mini step thingy, I can do this. Sure I can. If I am going to lose my job I will get stay pay and severance. I may never be able to buy one ever if I lose my job. This way I have one. Yes, justified. I GET AN iTOUCH, Mac Snow Leopard and iLife upgrades.

All right, now I am anxious for my shipments. Perhaps I should take Monday off so I can sign for the package. What if I miss the delivery guy? What is a girl to do!?!? I want it and I want it now! I am proud to be a forerunner in the instant gratification front that our society has become. Must not be biking hard enough and expending enough energy. I will bike tonight!

I biked! I biked! I went south on 61 and went to French park. This way was hilly and a lot more of a workout. The first big hill and my legs were beyond feeling the burn. It reminded me of a mtn bike race start at a huge hill at Buck Hill. I could barely use my legs. Today, I did make it up without stopping, a little winded but in the saddle.

The pounds will hopefully be melting off soon. At least my muchness has increased. Suppose to be a hot humid one Tuesday. Plans are to exercise and then go visit Josie.

iLive, iRide, iDance!
