Today we test to see if resting my tendon did any good. I did my Last Chance Workout - check, rode Josie - check. I felt it a little when riding and during my workout I just didn't kick up so high but otherwise did everything normal.

The pups were very happy to be out at the barn. I have become an afterthought once we get there. So busy greeting everybody. Pixie with her little squeals when it is one of her favorite peeps. Wyatt was even siding up to Janet while we were watching a lesson. Guess he knows who the alpha is :)

I felt really bad or like I pulled a fast one when J told me I owed the farrier a fiver. Shoeing with pads is extra each time - major Opps! You don't want to piss off your farrier. He is the foundation of the horse - no feet, no horse. Ernie has been great with the girl. Each year her feet look better and better. I have to take some credit as I apply hoof stuff every time I am out.

Tonight I rode in my jumping saddle. Ahhhhh it was so comfy. Josie and I tooled around at a nice walk, trotted two laps in both directions and did a bit of canter on a circle. There was a lesson and I didn't quite trust my ability. Trying to take it easy on the leg. We did some nice stretchy trotting. I was able to move the mare over a few steps and then back over.

If I could have rode at the show like I did today, I know we would have broke 60. It is coming along and I just need to wait for it. If, scratch that WHEN I get this same kind of work out of her in the updoor arena then I will have it for a show.

I did decide to scratch from trot poles just to give my tendon another week off. We are having a first annual Rib Fest among the cool town home peeps - the gals from the hood is what Norris calls us. Too funny! I figured I would probably be a bit hanging so my tendon is a great excuse.

Dropped my Ariat field boots and my Petrie dressage boots off at Bob's in Wayzata. It is a bit scary leaving my precious dressage boots. They will be fine and better than they were. Dude tried to talk me into replaces my leather soles with some treaded rubber crap - uh NO! I bought these specifically for the sole they had. I can't believe they will be ready to pick up Saturday. Thinking maybe I should have my breeches on and normal size socks to see if the boots were stretched enough. Well, duh! I will either be going or coming back from the barn when I pick them up.

I went to Stoneridge Equestrians afterwards. They were having a sale. I bought a baklava made by Mountain Horse - regular $21.95 and I paid $5 - suweeeet! I was looking for boot cut breeches. I guess I am ahead of the times - they didn't have any. I bought a pair of Irideon - black with leather knee patches. These are most comfy. Guess I will have to wait until my next on-line shopping spree. I should probably get my taxes finished before I spend more $$!

Today - Most Awesome!!
