Have I said lately how much I love Josie? They are installing a gate on the main entrance and are digging the ditch for the electrical and have cable rolls here and there. She (and I) confidently walk on as she looks, I rub her withers and on we go. It sure is nice having a horse that doesn't balk that every little thing that is new or moved.
I rode in the jumping saddle and did my much needed practice in two point. We did our normal warm up and she was just lovely.
I received an email regarding the David De Wispelaere clinic for September. I am hoping to take LM up on her offer to haul the Rebel. I sure hope he doesn't tear us apart too much. I have such pride in Josie and in how well she is going. I know she isn't perfect and I sure as heck ain't but are partnership is wonderful and a very beautiful thing. I just wonder what he will say :) It is hard to put yourself out there and ride for someone who doesn't know you or your horse. You cannot expect miracles in an hour. I just hope Josie and I are both on that day. I try to ride her without tension and feel we are at our best ever. Oh, how exciting! I will not be a basket case. I will not be a basket case. I will ride as I ride at home. He is just another human . . . OMG!
Our barn is going to be more diversified - in that there will be all kinds of fun things to do. One is soccer. I had been dragging my heels to buy Josie an exercise ball and dvd from Westfall but no more! We will be playing in the round pen big time, well, as soon as it arrives. The idea is to get them interacting with something that may scare them and to realize it is fun. Think I will ride western for that though. There will be a variety of clinicians and trainers with more balance between lessons and open arena time. This is what I look forward to most.
I pick up Pixie tomorrow and will have my last playtime with the pups. What a happy sad time it will be. Looking forward to the JRT Fun Day Sunday.
All for now - May the weekend be with you!
