Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett past away today - very sad.

This is one Gen-X'er who grew up with Michael's songs and danced the night away many a time. I am thoroughly shocked by the news. Farrah was expected but Michael is a great shock. We will never see the new dance move that he said would be bigger than the Moon Walk.

I might not have liked the person he evolved into but I LOVE the music. I remember the airing of Thriller on MTV. I sing ABC when trail riding.

I grew up with the Jackson 5 - hanging with the Browns down at the end of the cul-de-sac. Dancing and having a good old time. I listened to KMOJ on the way in and was crying a bit – probably as much for him as for me. It makes me feel more mortal than ever. I didn’t like the person he was to become – plastic surgery, general weirdness, dangling his kid off a balcony and possibly molesting kids – especially with my childhood. But I feel bad for all the celebrities as they can’t live a “normal” life.

KMOJ in a tribute to Michael are playing his music and having people call in. I listened to Ben, I'll Be There and Rockin' Robin on the way to work. Boy does that bring back memories, good and bad.

God Speed Michael and Farrah!
