Mission: House clean is almost completed. Thank god! I can't take much more. I hate cleaning. I would rather cut wood.

Pixie is still lame today BUT her thumb if you will on her right foot is swollen. I cut away hair and can finally see the source of the lameness. A little itty bitty abrasion. I clean it with chorlihexiderm and betadine. One should be careful when using betadine on a wiggly pup - it gets every where.

I had some left over meds from her anal infection so I wrapped the pill up and she snarfed it down. Over the course of the day she started using her foot more and the swelling seems to be going down. I gave her the pain med twice today. I think she will live.

Wy had to stay home to keep Pix company so I had just me and Josie time today. It was wonderful. She came when I called her. She had mud every where. Good thing I like grooming. She was a little upset when I tried to remove the mud on her gaskins but otherwise she tolerated very well.

Today we rode dressage. I did two laps of the arena, without stirrups, on the buckle. I sensed she was a litte lethargic with the higher temperature. I could feel her in both reins once I started taking up contact. She is now bending better to the right now. Left has become harder. It was difficult to do any of the exercises I needed to do because of a lesson which took over the center and end 20 meter circles. Then another pair came in and lunged so we lost the other 20 meter circle. We went round and round on the outside. I tried a couple of canter departs from walk one went better than the other. Afterwards she seemed a bit stressed as she would nod her head downwards. I ignored this and continued with forward and doing a bit of yo-yo within the gait of trot.

She was pretty sweaty. For that matter I was too. We took a hand walk outside to cool. I believe it was 56 degrees. She minded herself for the most part. It was dinner time and she can be a bit unruly but she maintained.

I know she will be a mess the next time I catch her - again - good thing I like grooming.
