A record breaking day - 46 degrees. It was so nice out. I had to remove snow from the front door roof as it was making quite the potential skating rink.

I took the pups for a much need and deserved hunt. We didn't even make it down the walking path before Pixie escavated a mole. At first I thought it was a vole, a really big vole. This thing was mean. Pixie set it down and Wyatt came in to give it a pouncing. He held it with his mouth long enough to take possession from Pix, pounced a few times. He pounced a couple more times when Pix decided she wanted it back. This became the end of Mr. Mole. I was much surprized when she left it. Wyatt immediately went for it and pranced around with it for a while. We wandered through the woods and field but only discovered entrails of a rabbit.

After going home, we came back out with Nikon in hand. I managed to take 285 shots. I couldn't get real close up on the mole but there are a few shots of him. Got some excellent shots of the dogs running in the snow. One of Wyatt that I just love - you can only see his eyes and this is after looking very hard. He has excellent camo for this time of year. Pix is easily spotted in the pictures. I was hoping to get some burrowing action but maybe next time. I have to figure out my software so I can get the pictures into a manageable size. They are 2.5 right now. Cropping gets them to 2 - 1.8. HUGE!

Tonight we are BBQing outside, toasting smores and all. I provided the portable fire pit and made french fries. The darn wind came up and it made it a bit unbearable but we just tucked into the garage or huddled around the fire. Multiple trips home to check on the dogs, sneak a smoke and grab another beer were treachorous due to the ice from the thaw.
