The New Year

I left 2008 riding and brought in 2009 riding. It was freezing so Josie and I did a little bareback ride for the last time in 2008. I still haven't ventured into the canter riding bareback. I keep hoping she will just take the initiative like she does with everything else and just do it. I left the pups home so I could have just Josie and I time.

Started out 2009 doing my exercises. My right knee has been bothering me - due to biking? Just not sure what the deal is. The arena was busy so we weren't able to practice our tests. She was very forward thinking and rolled into the canter a couple of times. I am still focusing on turning my upper body and head when we are going to the right. It is definitely helping with her bending. She is very smart and as long as I do my job she does everything I ask. We worked on halt trot transitions. I smacked her once and she wouldn't come down from the trot - opps! The next transition she just about jumping into it. This is what you want. I find she is a hard worker and I do not need to correct her too much. Now in the cross ties she can be a bit of a bi!ch. We are working on it. After the embarrassing bridling during my saddle fitting I am focusing more on her being good for bridling.

For some reason Wyatt isn't wanting to go into the kennel before I ride. At first, I thought it was due to someone clipping their horse. After my ride he will pop in and out of the kennel like nobodies business. He would rather sit in the car but it is too cold for that. He does this worried little running away thing. He is such a special boy.

Looking forward to practicing the test, hopefully, tomorrow night.

I must note that I have gone absolutely overboard with Facebook. I am addicted. I am in Mob Wars and Might of Mary. I am building my empires, weaponry and bank accounts. OMG! It is so much fun. Oh, and BaaBaa my pet sheep has grown and has six friends. Too much fun.
