The new bridle is here! The new bridle is here!
I know the picture is fuzzy but i figured I better get the other picture off before I got in trouble ;)
Amazingly so because my order of almost two weeks ago had arrived on Monday. The Kieffer Anja is lovely. The cob size does fit but barely. My little girl is almost pony size. I was a little worried about the bling on the brow band but it is very nice. She will look like she has a mini-tiara. With her little teddy bear coat it is hard to see if there are the three wrinkles for the bit to be properly placed. I will still have a hole left on either side to take it up.
After modeling, I took it off and put the bit back on the old bridle. The old bridle is just that now OLD. I lunged her for the second time. This being the first time inside with traffic. She did very well. She sure likes to switch directions. We worked on keeping her going and then halting without coming into me. I did this by turning my side to her, sponging the lunge line and moving toward her. She is very bright and is picking it up quickly. She did do a little buck which was more of a bounce of her hind end. You can tell she is a bit off balance. I had to use my halter as it didn't seem the caveson was the one I tried on her this weekend. I thought C had two in her locker but I only saw one. Josie accepted the tightening of the side reins. She was even stretching down. I didn't lunge her for very long but did work both sides. Next time I will put the ankles boots on her hind as it looked like she clipped herself at one point. The arena was a little too damp and there was a lesson so I didn't have her canter much. She did get a little yahooey but settled down. Tuesday nights will now be lunging night.
With the colder weather only the diehards are at the barn. Lovely sometimes I will have the place all the way to myself.
No doc appoints today. Yesterday was the radiation therapy consult - NOPE! Don't want to do that. The doc agreed just wait for the genetics test and have the MRI. Received a call from the lab, the insurance won't cover it all and I am looking at approximately $700 out of pocket. In the end it might be less, she was quoting the maximum but insurance could pick up more. I will have a year to pay it off - thank goodness.
