Pretty lazy day at home. Wy and I took a midday nap. One takes advantage of a sleepy JRT. So far I can wear him out.

Made it to the barn and took the pups for a walk/run/tussle. Cleaned out the pool for our return. Wy may need a bath one of these days. Got some great shots of King/Queen of the Manure Pile. Wish I could have got Tia dunking Wyatt and Wyatt dunking Tia. It was too funny.

PJ was very relaxed today. I was almost worried. Even checked to make sure he had gut sounds. While I was playing with the pups a transformer blew and we lost power at the barn. I waited a little while longer to ride. Warmed up inside and then out to the brown arena (this is an enclosed arena with no letters). PJ doesn't like H's car - the blue? I don't know. Made it past it and into the arena. Wouldn't you know here comes the utility truck. He doesn't go down the driveway once but twice. PJ didn't care but I stayed at the farthest side.

We did small canter circles and serpentines. He was so relaxed I decided to ride him on the grass. We went down the lane and then to the grass by the white arena (this is the arena with dressage letters). We walked and trotted. He tripped a couple of times. The ground there is a bit uneven - someone needs to pick up his feet. I also think he thought he should be eating the grass not working on it. I got the canter on the left lead but to the right he kept giving me the left lead. I didn't want to press it outside. He gets frustrated when he knows he isn't do it right. We will try again tomorrow. I rode him back to the barn. I am very proud of us. We will be ready for the trail one of these days. I like to try these things spur of the moment - no time to get nervous about it.
